Residents and Ahmadiyya clash, MUI Forms TPF




IndonesiaNewsTimes (National) ~ Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) will investigate the clash in Cikeusik, Pandeglang, Banten, which killed three people. To explore the case, Cikeusik, MUI will form a fact-finding team (TPF).


"Members of our TPF (MUI) and Islamic organizations," said Chairman of MUI Amidhan BukaBerita.com when contacted on Monday evening February 7, 2011. Amidhan said the team is not composed of representatives of the Ahmadiyya. "They must establish its own fact-finding team."


Through networking in the region, he explained, the MUI has been gathering information related to the cause of the clashes early Sunday, February 6, 2011. "This needs to be investigated because there are indications of provocation," he said.


Based on information obtained by the MUI, 18 Ahmadiyah congregation who came with two cars suspected of committing acts that are less pleasing to the residents around. "They said it would defend to the death Ahmadiyya. In fact, there are residents who have contacted them to cool down the situation,"said Amidhan.

A number of residents and the police had been called for the Ahmadiyah congregation that is in the house were evacuated. "But they refused," he said.


Residents also comes with a wavy and eventually clashes were inevitable. "We were involved in clashes regret this and fall victim. We hope everyone can hold back for a similar incident does not happen again," he said.

TPF, he said, is expected to investigate more deeply about these incidents bloody clashes.
